Psychoanalytical psychotherapy is a type of treatment based on the theories of Dr. Sigmund Freud who is considered as being the forefather of psychoanalysis.

Psychoanalytical psychotherapy is made for:

Individuals experiencing a loss of meaning in their lives which can lead to low self-esteem and depressive thoughts and who are looking for a greater sense of fulfillment.
Individuals experiencing a problematic situation and want to understand why they have difficulties to overcome it.
Individuals struggling in their relationships
Individuals suffering from different psychiatric disorders such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, traumas, eating disorders, addictions, etc.
According to this theory, the loss of meaning and discordance that a patient is experiencing in his life comes from repressed elements from the past that are guiding unconsciously the patient’s life. It means that the patient is not the principal actor in his life anymore. The repressed patterns are driving his life and his relationships.

The relationship with the psychotherapist is a crucial element in the psychotherapy. It offers a confidential and private setting where the patient’s unconscious patterns can find a way to express themselves and become conscious. That will free the patient from his past and help him recover his subjectivity.

During this process, psychotherapy can gradually bring about a degree of self-understanding, and an increased awareness of how past experiences can affect current behavior. This enables the patient to find more appropriate ways of being by himself and in his relationships and coping with difficulties.

Psychotherapy is a journey that leads to more authenticity, self-knowledge and that will allow you to become again the master of your life.
