Note
Cerebral palsy is a neurological condition that affects movement and posture. It is caused by damage to the developing brain, usually during the gestational period or during the birthing process or shortly after birth. The damage can occur in different areas of the brain, leading to a range of motor disabilities including spasticity, ataxia and dyskinesia.

Studies have confirmed that the damage to the brain due to cerebral palsy can be the result of various factors including genetic abnormalities, hypoxic-ischemic injury, inflammation and infection during the gestational period. These factors are responsible for major cellular and networking damage in the brain, further leading to alterations in brain development and connectivity. It has also been confirmed that in addition to the structural changes, the functional contribution is also altered in children with CP.
