What is a Root Canal?
A root canal is done when the pulp (or fleshy inner core) of your tooth is damaged. This can happen due to severe decay, infection, or oral trauma. As a result, you can experience immense sensitivity and pain because this is where blood vessels and nerves amalgamate. In order to preserve what’s left of your tooth, a root canal needs to be done. Fully mature teeth can survive without their pulp.

You’ll need to book a private consultation with your dentist before undergoing the actual treatment; it’s important to make sure that the rest of your oral cavity is healthy enough to withstand the invasiveness of this procedure – otherwise, your mouth won’t fully heal. A physical examination and x-rays will take place.

Should you be given the green light, subsequent appointments will be booked.
