Based in Toronto, Monography is a self-portrait studio that provides a distinctive photographic experience by enabling anyone to use top-notch studio equipment to take their own professional-caliber portraits. Since people are both the topic and the photographer under this concept, photography may be done in a more intimate and artistic way. For fifteen minutes, the studio offers the opportunity for clients to take natural self-portraits in a private setting. Staff members are on hand to assist with repositioning the camera during the session. Following the photo shoot, participants are given the option to choose four images, of which two will be edited and printed in full 5x7 format, and the other two will be reproduced as polaroids. Within fifteen minutes, retouching and printing are finished and ready for pickup or mailing to the person's residence.
