Therapeutic ultrasound is a treatment modality which is used to provide deep heating to soft tissues in the body. These include muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments.

If you have an injury such as bursitis, tendonitis, or arthritis, your physical therapist may choose to apply therapeutic ultrasound to your injured body part as part of your rehabilitation program.
