Note
White fused alumina (WFA), also named white corundum, white fused aluminum oxide. White fused alumina over obtained using high purity industrial alumina powder, which is fusion in electric arc furnaces with a temperature over 2,000 degrees. It cooled, crushed, shaped, and magnetically separated to remove iron sieved into various particle sizes. White fused alumina is raw material characterized by high hardness, yet friable with high purity, chemical stability, a high melting point, and large crystal size. White Fused Alumina is used in many applications, including grinding and cut-off wheels, refractories, ceramic shapes, coated abrasives, investment casting shells, laminates, coatings, and blasting abrasives, lapping, and polishing.
