Electrical devices or apparatus used in electrical power systems for switching on or off the electrical circuit are known as switchgears. Most of the switchgears are composed of electrical disconnect switches, fuses, relays, isolators or circuit breakers. Manual and automatic both types of switchgears are used to control, protect and isolate electrical downstream sections or directly connected electrical equipments. Automatic switchgear systems de-energize the downstream sections or equipment's in case of faults or abnormal conditions. They are also used for isolating connected load sections for maintenance, testing or other job works.
